Presentation Abstract:
Want to learn the inside scoop on how to move your Product Management career forward and get on the fast track? In the last 15 years, Vito Salvaggio has worked in Silicon Valley in Product Management in four companies covering a broad range of business contexts: large, small, private, public, hardware, software, consumer, enterprise, PC, internet, and wireless. In this talk he will share simple maxims, based on his personal experience, on how Product Managers, regardless of the type of business, can grow and elevate their careers in one of the most demanding industries, doing one of the most rewarding jobs.

Speaker Bio:
Vito Salvaggio is VP of Product Marketing at Roxio, a division of Sonic Solutions, the leading provider of consumer, professional and embedded CD and DVD authoring products such as Roxio Easy Media Creator for Windows and Toast for the Mac.

Vito has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and started his career as an engineer designing computer graphics cards at Matrox. After several years he realized that engineering wasn't his passion, so he decided to pursue a graduate business degree at MIT's Sloan School.

Vito joined Apple Computer in 1990 as a Product Manager working on high end Macintoshes, and then transitioned to software where he was Director of Product Marketing for all Mac OS releases. After seven years at Apple he left to join Accrue Software, a startup focused on developing web analysis tools for heavily trafficked web sites. He joined as Director of Product Marketing and was later appointed VP of Marketing. At Accrue he experienced the wild internet boom and bust including an IPO and 4 acquisitions in 14 months. In early 2001 he left Accrue to join wireless messaging startup Unimobile as VP of Marketing, and then later moved on to Roxio.
