WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ON SR. PRODUCT MANAGER POSITION IN THE S.F. BAY
AREA

  • Senior PM in Bay Area right now seems to be around $100K....or about $20 - $30K down on where it was two years ago.
  • BSEE, MS in engineering. 8+ yrs total experience. Recent (late 2002) job hop from a software company to another software/hardware company at a starting salary of $115k with a decent options package (under 10k).
  • BSCS/MSCS, 7 yrs experience. 1 yr at a large software company, 6 at a small startup. Got canned in mid 2002. Hired at a medium size software company in later 2002/early 2003. Starting sal of $120k, decent
    options package (under 10k).
  • I hired a Sr. Product Manager/Product Mktg. Mgr. for one of my clients about 6 months ago for $100k base. The range for a Director today is $120-150k/yr. base
  • From what I have seen through job posted and heard from others, it's anywhere from $95k to $115K. Few at $120K.
  • A friend of mine just got hired as Sr. Prod Mgr, based in the bay area. The range he has got is between $100-$120K (base salary) from an established applications company.
